The United Way of Marion County Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Brett White as the next Executive Director of the organization.
“We are very happy to have Brett joining us,” said Holly Kauffman, President. “He brings a wealth of experience and skills in fundraising, marketing, campaign planning, and United Way management. With his leadership, we will continue to expand the impact of United Way on quality of life across Marion County.”
White currently serves as the Director of Development and Communications for the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties – a position he has held since 2012. In that role, he oversees the organization’s fundraising campaign of $1.5 million dollars. From 2004 to 2012, he served as Program Manager for the WVU Center for Civic Engagement, where he spearheaded West Virginia University’s United Way campaign, one of the largest in the state.
“I am very excited about working with the United Way of Marion County,” said White. “Together, I’m confident we can build a stronger United Way that works to address the health, education, and financial stability of every Marion County resident.”
The United Way of Marion County raises dollars to support 20 local health and human service agencies. The 2018 fundraising campaign kicked off last week with a goal of raising $420,000. Michael Angelucci is leading the efforts as Campaign Chair.
White is an avid community volunteer and is active in numerous community organizations including Rotary, the Public Relations Society of America’s West Virginia Chapter, and the WVU Extension Service.
“I’m looking forward to joining the community and getting to work,” added White. He will be relocating to Marion County and begins his official duties on August 14.
