The Tygart Valley United Way celebrated another successful finish with their Campaign Celebration on February 20, 2025 at the Robert Mollohan Research Center in Fairmont. This event, which was the conclusion of the 2025 community campaign, celebrated the finish with $602,578 raised to help support our local community.
Over 687 individual donors participated in the annual fundraising drive with over 127 leadership gifts of $500 or more. The Women United program saw 41 join.
Representatives from the Rotary Club of South Fairmont presented a check for $75,000 to the campaign, representing the total raised from the 17th annual Celebration of Lights this winter. The amount ties 2020 as the highest amount ever raised.
Mon Power took the top honor of the event with the “Best of the Best” Award, raising over $53,000. Fairmont State University took home the Campaign Cornerstone Award for their continued commitment and surpassing their goal of $30,000. MVB Bank tripled their annual giving and was recognized with the Gleason and Jean Kuhn Growth and Innovation Award.
46 businesses provided corporate gifts. MegaCorp made an extremely generous gift of $15,000. WVU Medicine, Davis Trust, EQT Foundation, J.F. Allen, Harry Green, and XTO Energy all donated $5,000. Performance Chevrolet of Elkins contributed over $4,000 from their February car sales promotion!
22 small businesses joined the Small Business 365 Circle and a total of 78 workplaces ran employee campaigns.
Fundraising events also played a major role in helping to reach the goal. The first ever Lip Sync Battle added over $55,000 to the campaign. The Live United Auction, which was held in November, raised just over $11,000, and the new Laugh United in Elkins raised $3,000.
Tammy Linn of Mon Power and Greg DeVito of Marion County Schools were recognized as the Outstanding Employee Coordinators. Dani DeVito, former Board Chair and longtime supporter was recognized with the Rev. Jack “Donal” Squires Award for her unwavering commitment to the United Way.
The Marion County Public Library was recognized with the Friend of Flipside award. Novelis and Huntington Banks were recognized with the United for Impact Award for their commitment to impact projects throughout the year. WVU Medicine Fairmont received the Volunteerism Award for their work in the community this year and the Homestead Farm Center was recognized as the Outstanding Funded Partner campaign for doubling their annual giving.
Mike Bell of Elkins received the Spirit of the Tygart Award for his work in the regional footprint and Cindy Dicky of Fairmont Federal Credit Union was named the Gary Clay Advocate of the Year. MegaCorp Logistics received the Live United award for their steadfast commitment to the community and generous support.
A special treat was the recognition of Harry Green Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram for their phenomenal first workplace campaign and efforts on behalf of United Way. In their first time participating, they raised over $10,000 and were recognized with the Great Beginnings Award!
